Swimming Lessons

Lessons are scheduled on a weekly basis and paid for on a monthly basis. Our tuition per month is based on lessons scheduled once per week. Months are prorated if holiday closures occurs (or other reason a proration would need to occur) on your lesson date and multi-child discounts are available for families with multiple children. Make-up lessons are available and need to be scheduled with the front desk. You have one month in which to schedule make-up lessons. When signing up online you will see we have session dates, these pertain to our schedules only, not our tuition costs. We have two sessions, spring/summer and fall/winter. Sessions run from Memorial Day through Labor Day and Labor Day through Memorial Day. Session dates are for internal use only.

*Private lessons are available for children and adults, please speak to a Natavi representative if you are interested.

*The age categories in each level may not apply to every child. Some children may progress at different rates as well. These are average ages and basic guidelines.  

Our group swimming lessons will never exceed 4 children per instructor

Parent & Tot:

The Parent & Tot course is for children between the ages of 6 months and 3 years old. In this course instructors are trained to provide a joyful, loving, child-centered environment featuring songs and activities to encourage skill acquisition while also developing a lifelong love of the water. It promotes natural progression as to encourage toddlers to learn the following skills: water acclimation, flutter kicks, breath control, back kicking, breath holding, basic surface swim progression, and safety skills. During this course a parent or care taker must accompany children in the water during their lessons.

Level 3:

Level 3 is for children between the ages of 6 and 9 and teaches children bobbing and submerging head completely, bib in water safely over head and travel to safe area, jump into water from side of pool to instructor, prone glide with push off (2 body lengths), back glide with push off (2 body lengths), freestyle/front crawl with rhythmic breathing to side or front, coordinated backstroke, introduction to elementary backstroke, change directions while swimming front/back, treading water, safety skills - introduce reaching assists and life jacket safety.

Level 1:

Level 1 is for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. Instructors provide an activity-oriented approach that utilizes child-oriented activities to allow progression in the following skills: relaxes & is comfortable in water, bounce up and down in chest deep water, breath control, supported front and back float, blowing bubbles, jump from deck to instructor in shallow water, the basics of alternating arms in water, and water safety.

Level 4:

Level 4 is for children between the ages of 8 and 11 and teaches children elementary backstroke, freestyle/front crawl rhythmic breathing to the side, rhythmic flutter kick front & back, backstroke, breaststroke - whip kick, arm stroke, and glide, introduction to side stroke, survival floating, tread water, changing positions while survival floating, treading water, back floating, reaching assists, and water safety.

Level 2:

Level 2 is for children between the ages of 4 and 7 and allows progression in the following skills taking into account differences in motor skills and learning styles for each age group: fully submerging head, submerge & retrieve objects from chest deep water, front and back float unsupported, bobs with rhythmic breathing, jump from side of pool to chest deep water and recover to a standing position, flutter kick on back and front, rotate from front to back, rotate from back to front, backstroke arm action, finning on back, combined stroke on front using alternating arms and kick, combined stroke on back using alternating arms and kick, introduction to treading water, water safety.

Level 5:

Level 5 is for children 10 years of age and older. This level teaches refined breaststroke, refined sidestrokes, underwater swimming, refined elementary backstroke, refined freestyle, refined backstroke, introduction to butterfly and dolphin kick, and safety skills.
